Fraternity & Sorority Life at the University of North Florida offers you a whole new experience of true friendships, camaraderie, academic support and achievement, active leadership involvement, community service, fun social events, athletic involvement, and very exciting times!
"Going Greek" is a great way to meet new people on campus, find a family away from home, become involved in all that the University has to offer, grow and strengthen your confidence, network with thousands of people across the globe, learn new heights of leadership, bolster your resume, gain potentially thousands of dollars in scholarship money, and literally become ready for anything as you graduate and head into the 'real world.'
Centuries ago, the ancient Greeks developed 'ritual' as a way of transitioning their young men into warriors. This was a way of initiating their sons and daughters into life. It was a very proud process - one of letting their children go from the covering of their youth, spurring them to venture out and find themselves through the discovery of their own personal courage, strength, and confidence.
Today, Fraternity & Sorority Life carries-on the ancient Greeks' legacy by embodying this same mindset of readying today's college students, equipping them for success - preparing them for life.
Students of all backgrounds and cultures have found a place for themselves and thrived within the University's fraternities and sororities. UNF hosts 23 fraternity (men) and sorority (women) organizations (chapters), and over 1,300 students are currently involved in a Fraternity & Sorority Life experience. In all, Fraternity & Sorority Life adds a dimension to one's college experience that simply is not found in other organizations.
We greatly encourage you to check out the University of North Florida's fraternities and sororities on your own by going through 'recruitment.' With Greek Housing planned to break ground within the next 12 months and all the amazing growth and events constantly occurring within Fraternity & Sorority Life, you'll find it's an incredible time to be in a fraternity or sorority here at UNF! The most awesome opportunity you have in college is that of being able to design and write an exciting new chapter of your own life to make decisions and put learning to use that will literally determine the course and direction of your future.
