The University of North Florida hosts 24 Greek-lettered organizations on campus. Fraternity & Sorority Life at UNF is made up of five National Panhellenic Council (NPC) Sororities, eight Inter-Fraternity Council (IFC) Fraternities, nine National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) Fraternities and Sororities, and a MultiCultural Greek Council (MGC) Fraternity and Sorority. More information about these organizations can be found on the "Chapter Profile" and "Recruitment" pages.
'Going Greek' is becoming a member of a Fraternity or Sorority. A Fraternity is a group of men bound together by friendship, ritual ties, and common goals. A Sorority is a collegiate group of women closely united by bonds of oath, friendship, and ritual. Fraternities and sororities jointly stand for pillars such as fellowship, scholarship, leadership, service, and personal responsibility. They provide a home away from home, and promote friendships which are built to last a lifetime.
Fraternities and Sororities can help you find your niche on campus. They offer academic assistance and support, encourage you to participate in various campus activities and organizations, open the doors for leadership and networking with tens of thousands of alumni, help you develop strong social skills, give you the opportunity to create life-long friendships with people of similar interests, goals, and ambitions, and foster educational awareness of social and world issues. Fraternities and Sororities do all of this while opening your eyes to you. You will discover your true potential and a strengthend sense of confidence. You will see just who and all that you can be through a Fraternity & Sorority Life experience.
While we've only been around for 33 years, UNF Fraternity & Sorority Life is the single-largest student entity at UNF, with more students involved than in all student governing leadership, clubs, organizations, intramurals, and athletics - combined!
